Hello. You can call me Skewb. Or Canned Ram. Whichever! Anyways, this is my site. I am a guy in my late 20's. I work in the IT sector and specialize in computer networks. This site is my little project to finally learn how to build a website from scratch. I originally resigned myself to never touch HTML and CSS after I tried to maintain my grandfather's business website when I was 17 or 18. I could not figure it out as I took over a full site without knowing anything about HTML or CSS. So I did my best to re-create it using WordPress' editor at the time and I could not match the original quality or get it to work like my grandfather wanted. After a year or so of floundering, I just told him to get a company to create the website and maintain it for him.
Anyways. Small rant over. This is a hobby project and so far I am enjoying myself! I originally only found out about the "Indie Web" or "Old Web" from a YouTube video by "green hoodie cat" called The COOLER Internet. This led me to hop over to Neocities and once I started browsing I fell in love with the idea of a personal website.
Currently this website is being built from the ground up with no template or stylization base. Just what I can write. It is currently using the static site generator 11ty (Eleventy). It is rather difficult to follow the demo site with no prior HTML or CSS experience, but I am slowly getting the hang of it.
